Pie In the Face

Miss Natalie, our VBS director, took FIVE pies in the face since the boys won the penny war.  The last one was a real stinger but she was a trooper!

What you don't see is what happened next.  They attempted to get Bro Rick with a pie.  It may not have been a complete success but the silly string sure got the job done!

Philippines

We were thrilled to help Bro Villenueva purchase a bike and cart for the work in the Philippines. Half the money was raised from our generous people!  The church then voted the next week to supplement what was needed and we were able to share the news with Bro. Villenueva.  With this bike and cart they can transport 7 adults or 10 kids to church.  Praise the Lord!

Nursing Home

Bro Leon has participated in our nursing home ministry for years. He currently preaches every Sunday morning prior to our worship service. The residents love him and look forward to their weekly services. God has greatly blessed him in this ministry and we are very grateful to have him in our church family.

The song he sings as he brings in residents- "Wayfaring Pilgrim."

India Missions

A wonderful presentation was given at our church tonight on the work of Missionary James Griggers. Bro. Steve Maynard and Bro. Lay from Louisville, KY traveled to India in November to assist Bro Griggers in the ministry. They took time to present the work to our church since the Griggers are unable to travel back to the States (health reasons). What a blessing to see what the Lord is doing there in the lives of the people, the lepper colony, and the school.

Ecclesiastes 7:3

"Sorrow is better than laughter; for by the sadness of the coutenance the heart is made better."

This is a tough verse to understand, let alone live. Today our church family has experienced profound sorrow. Rebekah Jane and Rachel Elisabeth, infants, opened their eyes for the first time and the Savior was the first thing they saw. They will be greatly missed. What a blessed comfort to know that they will be reunited with their family one day. Please, continue to lift their parents up in prayer.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is a time set aside to give thanks. Any day is a good day to give thanks, but we set aside this special day to pause and reflect on what God has done. We have so much to be thankful for and this past Sunday proved just that. We had a service of testimonies and singing praise to God. There was truly a spirit of thanksgiving that night! He is worthy of our praise!

Anniversary Service 2011

Bible Baptist Church celebrates 18 years

Bro. Phil Gabbard preached our anniversary service this year and what a great service it was! We did our customary early evening service after a delicious potluck lunch and, following the second service, Bro. Jim Bradley ceremoniously burned the mortgage note to our building and property (and the carpet, but I digress...)! What a tremendous blessing it was to see how the Lord has provided for our church and allowed us to pay off our building early! Great things lie ahead of Bible Baptist Church!

Bro. Sam Gipp

This past Sunday ended our meeting with Bro. Sam Gipp. He delivered straight to the heart messages. He targeted on Bible reading, surrendering to God, thanking God for what He has done, and the one word that changed the world- Jesus. God is good to care about His people and give them what they need just when they need it. Thank you, Bro. Gipp, for truly being "A Friend to Churches."

Brisk fall air and a beautiful skyline were the setting for our church picnic this year. Unfortunately due to the burn ban we were unable to have our traditional bonfire. Instead we roasted marshmallows and had smores around an open charcoal grill.

Sunday morning service Pastor Baker preached on what to do with giants in our lives and illustrated it with a chalk drawing.
